HOT TOPICS: H1N1 VIRUS

As many as 5.7 million americans were in infected with the H1N1 virus between april and late July. Researches say, offering the clearest piture yet of how quickly and widely swine flu can spread. Researches used computer models to estimate the number of people who have contracted swine flu, which began infecting americans in April.They estimated that 1.8 million cases of swine flu occurred between April and July 23, sending between 9,000 and 20,000 people to the hospital. About 6 percent of people who were hospitalized with the virus died, the team led by 6 carriers reed at the U.S centers for disease control and pervention, reported in the journal emerging infected diseases.
